For once, I’ve had a busy weekend that didn’t include lawn care or errands and was 100% dedicated to time in my studio making new jewelry. What bliss..except for the one mishap when I accidentally dump a whole tray of beads on the floor.
Here’ a sneak peak at a couple of new things I was working on. I’m really happy with how the wire-wrapped rings turned out!
I recently realized that I’m becoming far-sighted and need reading glasses. Boo hoo! So I made these eyeglass holders in solidarity with my fellow four-eyed compadres.
Stay tuned for more updates as I get eveything photographed!

Sterling Silver Ring with Malachite and Lapis Lazuli
I’m starting to use more found objects in my work. In this copper wire-wrapped ring, I recycled a gold-toned button and flanked it with two Swarovski crystals. I think this ring will look even better once the copper patinas into a richer, darker color. The button and yellow crystals will be a bright contrast.
Here are a couple of new things that I have been working on this week.

I love the look of a chunky, gemstone cocktail ring and have made two wire-wrapped rings with faceted Amazonite stones. On one, I used 18 gauge copper wire which will patina over time, and I made the other one with 20 gauge sterling silver wire.

I made these earrings by wrapping sterling silver wire into a herringbone pattern around peacock-blue Swarovski crystals and added smaller peridot Swarovski crystal dangles as an accent. Peacock colors are a big Fall fashion trend this year. The color combinations are so rich and exotic! I’m envisioning a night out on the town with a smoldering, smoky eye and these earrings as a strikng accent.
